Skill development for craftspeople

It is with great pleasure that the Ecole de joaillerie de Québec has presented to the One of a Kind exhibitors and crafts schools of Canada, Dominique Audette’s book: “Jewelry Illustration”.

"Jewelry Illustration" is available www.brynmorgen.com/catalog

In 2007, the EJQ was presenting the book “Dessin de bijoux” written in French. Given the uniqueness of the book, a step by step method to teach jewelry illustration, the English speaking schools expressed their deep interest to see the book translated into English. In 2010, thanks to the editor Tim McCraith and Brynmorgen Press, it is now done!

The author will be very pleased to give a MASTERCLASS, in English (15 hours from 8:30 to 17:30). It will take place on June 12 and 13 (a week-end) in beautifull Quebec City. If so desired, we will be pleased to help you find lodging near our school.

The cost is 300 $ (2 lunches included).

One component of the EJQ’s mission is to provide practicing craftspeople the opportunity to keep their skills up to date by taking part in skill development workshops on various aspects of their professional activities, including new techniques, new materials, new technologies, new product marketing strategies and others.

Funding for these activities is provided by the Conseil des métiers d’art du Québec, which negotiates an overall allocation with Emploi-Québec. Each year, the craft school/studios submit proposals for skill development courses. Depending on the availability of the funding received, a selection of courses is announced for each session (Fall) (Winter).
