L’École de joaillerie de Québec: A “UNIQUE” STATUS

The École de joaillerie de Québec is an independent, non-profit organization (NPO).

Moreover, the EJQ is a registered charity and can therefore issue tax receipts for donations or bequests.

As a partner of Cégep Limoilou, the EJQ is under contract (renewed annually) to provide the specialized component of the Crafts Techniques Program – Jewelry Option.

The EJQ is obligated to hire practising jewelry artists as its course instructors and to provide teaching facilities and equipment that mirror the working conditions in the field of jewelry.

The EJQ must seek various sources of financial supportand numerous partners in order to carry out the various aspects of its mission.

The EJQ is an organization that is proud to promote the values of the social economy.

For this reason, since 2006, in its own small way, the EJQ works with the craftspeople of Niger (Africa) to help them in their collective struggle for financial independence and human dignity.
